Teaching Philosophy
Whether a student is striving for a career in music or just hoping to sing for personal fulfillment and enjoyment, my goal is to create a studio environment that is open, encouraging, and respectful. Singing is fun! Sometimes it is easy to forget this. Lessons are filled with mistakes, which help us to learn. There will be many laughs and smiles during lessons in the Heath studio. Students are encouraged to ask questions and step outside of one’s comfort zone, all while learning to improve technique and sing in a healthy and authentic manner.
About Me
Professional Experiences
I work as the Coordinator of Vocal Studies within the Providence College Music Department, where I teach courses, private lessons, and lead the Opera and Musical Theatre Workshop. Before this, I taught at the Rhode Island Philharmonic School and built up my own private voice studio from home. For the past two decades I’ve been singing as cantor for liturgies at St. Mary’s Cathedral, the mother church of the Diocese of Fall River.

What Students are Saying
"Working with Elizabeth has been a wonderful experience. She meets you exactly where you are in your vocal abilities with the talent and knowledge to help you grow, to help you "free the voice". Since taking lessons with her my breath support, intonation, and confidence have all improved greatly. Her kindness and humor put you at ease right away. I would highly recommend studying with Elizabeth if you are a beginner, or a seasoned singer. "

Other recent performances have taken place at Providence College, The Music Mansion for The Chaminade Club, and at Grace Episcopal in New Bedford as soloist for the New Bedford Choral Society.
